"if it moves, kick it. If it doesn't move, kick it until it does"

Everton V Arsenal

I'm currently watching Arsenal V Everton. It's 2 minutes in the second half and it's 4-0 to Arsenal. It's totally amazing. It's like Everton's defence has gone to the pub already! Lescott has other things on his mind it seems, and his partner in crime Yobo seems to be following any player like a lost puppy. It's embarrassing for Everton and especially David Moyes. What are his players thinking!!

Arsenal are playing their little socks off! I really didn't expect Arsenal to play like this, but then again it is the first game of the season, so i'll have to wait until January to pass judgement on Arsene's Youth Project, but so far so good.

Wenger: Kids to win the title.

Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger says his Young Guns can take the title this season amidst criticism of the squad being too young and doesn't have experience.
He talked about why he turned down the chance to manage Kaka, Ronaldo and Co. The reason......his Youth Project that he has going on at Arsenal.

He said: "I felt if I left I would have in some way betrayed my beliefs. "It was nothing to do with Real Madrid, it was about Arsenal.
"I knew what Real were about to do but I have a project here that I started four years ago. I could not leave at this stage of their development.
"To talk of winning the League is an audacious statement but I built this team and I want to deliver with this team. "At 22 or 23 a team is mature enough to deliver."

I am impressed with Wenger for what he's doing at Arsenal, but when is it going to fruition?, He hasn't won a thing since Pat Vieira left for Juve in 2005. In these times where there is so much pressure in football, no matter what division you're playing in, i'm surprised he still works at Arsenal!

I do applaud him for the youth project, but he has so many foreigners in that squad it is sad for English football. A club like Arsenal was known for it's good English players back in the late 80's early 90's, at one point in time the Arsenal defence was the English national team defence, and now since Wenger took over way back in the mid 90's, the production of English players from that club has fizzled to nothing.

Liverpool and Chelsea are to blame too. Even to some extent Man UTD are in the same boat with these offenders. And England fans wonder why England can't win a major trophy. This is the reason, and until Prem bosses wise up to this and the English FA grow some balls and implement the foreigner rule, it will be the same for season's to come.

Vieira set to return to Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has seen his 'youth project' come to nothing, not one trophy since 2005. And that was when Patrick Vieira left for Juventus.
It's strange to see Arsene being humbled by his own policy. I don't know about you but i knew as soon as Vieira left Arsenal there was going to be trouble for Wenger. I'm not saying that Wenger is a stupid man, far from it, but why would you take a chance on all these young players when you have half the team as youth and the other half older. Ferguson has the right balance and i think that's why he's so successful. He puts 2 or 3 youth players in with the older and experienced players and he wins trophy after trophy. Arsene has found the one player that he has to bow down to, and not the player bowing down to him.

Toure: No leadership at Arsenal

Man City new boy Kolo Toure says Wenger's lack of squad strengthening made him decide to quit the Gunners. The new Blue Boy recently transferred from Arsenal for 16 million pounds said that Arsenal's reliance on youth means that they lack in leadership and experience that is needed in the Premiership.

"When you look at Arsenal you see all the great players have left and are now in the past, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Ray Parlour have gone. We lost too many leaders at Arsenal." said the 28-year-old.

Arsenal changed their captain last season William Gallas to Cesc Fabregas after Gallas made comments about this team-mates. Toure was the last of Arsenal's 'immortals' ......the team that went through the whole of the '03-'04 season unbeaten, but seemed to have snubbed the captaincy.

Tore added "Players like Henry, Vieira and Parlour that brought success to Arsenal have all gone and I believed it was right at this stage of my career to also move on,"when we were winning the league the spirit was fantastic, we were like a band of brothers."

So Toure stays at a club that is winning, but yet loyalty is out of the window for the manager who had faith in you to pay your wages. It's so sad.
I totally agree with Toure about Arsene's youth project, he needs to find the right balance like he had in 2003.
But even with Arsenal not winning a trophy since 2005, what has Man City won? Does Toure really think that a trophy of some sort will be heading to Eastlands? No, i don't think there will be.

Adebayor the money grabber.

GAEL CLICHY told former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor: You only left us for the money.
Adebayor had stated that abusive Arsenal fans drove him out to another club. But did it have to be Man City?.....no. It was all about the money.
Adebayor is strong, powerful, can score goals, and is quite technical for a big man. So he wants us to believe that no other 'big' club wants him? And only Man. City with more money than Abramovich would like to double his salary for his services.
I think Clichy is right. Man. City will buy anyone who will go to them for big money.
Good luck to Mark Hughes, he's going to need it. Too many highly paid stars in fighting for eleven places is not good.

Montenegrin youngster on his way to the Gunners

Arsenal are keeping an eye on Montenegrin starlet Veljko Batrovic.

Batrovic, 15, is being eyed by the Gunners, Real Madrid, Marseille and Olympiakos. Arsenal boss Wenger and chief scout Rowley travelled to Montenegro back in March to watch Batrovic and the pair were so impressed that they offered him a week's trial at the Emirates. Batrovic will train with Arsenal next week and FK Bubamara chairman Miranovic said that the player is almost certain to sign for Arsenal.

Miranovic said "Nothing is yet finished but Veljko will go to a club with the strongest agreement, not only for Bubamara, but for Montenegro football in general.
"The details we'll talk about when the time comes."

I hope Wenger has seen the light and if he is to stay at Arsenal for another 5 years hopefully we'll see this player play in the first team for the Gunners in the near future, and not sold off like Campbell was from Man UTD after coming up through the youth ranks.
One can only hope.

Are Premier League clubs in too much debt?

This is an article i found written by Robert Preston who is the BBC business editor. It is about Arsenal in the English Premier League. I found it too interesting to pass up.
Please read the article and come back here to read my view.

So what's your take on this shit about Premier League clubs being too far in debt. I think it's sick. Let's start from the bottom.
We could blame the players for demanding so much money to play for these clubs, and their signing on bonuses, scoring bonuses, clean sheet bonuses, etc, etc......or we could blame the club manager for hiring these players and spending the whole transfer budget on one player (in some cases).
We could also blame the club chairman who provide the money for the manager to spend on 'silly buys', buying players just to fill the #99 shirt, but i don't think you can ultimately blame these people, you have to blame the Premier League chiefs who allow the sort of owners like Glazier at Manchester United, Arsenal Holdings at Arsenal and Gillett/Hicks at Liverpool to do what they did. These 3 clubs are in serious debt, and these two are the ones you would least think to be in debt at all.The Premier League chiefs should be shot at dawn, then hung from the Anfield rafters and laughed at, that's just my opinion.

There is too much money in European football, only because it is the most popular sport in the world and it is attracting the likes of rich Arabs, wealthy billionaires, and big bucks Americans, people who would not have any interest if we turned back the clock to when the Premier League was the old Division 1, and the Champions League wasn't actually a league, just the top teams from their respective leagues, not second, third and fourth place teams in the mix also.
In some European countries you can only own a team if you're that nationality.

If the foreign businessmen have their own cash in a briefcase, then they can buy the club, if they have cash from loans being taken out, then i'm sorry, you're not buying shit. That's what should happen but all the Prem chiefs see is pound and dollar signs. It's all money money money and no football anymore. It's sad, so sad.

Almunia is no Lion.

After spending 5 years in England, Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia can now be called up for England, and he has stated that he will be proud as anyone if England manager Fabio Capello gave him the thumbs up.
The 32-year-old stopper insists he would be as chuffed as a player born and bred in Bradford, Barnsley or Bermondsey to wear the Three Lions on his chest

He said: "It is almost impossible for me to be called up by Spain.
"But it would be an honour if the England coach counted on me."

So what Almunia is trying to say is that Casillas is too good to be knocked off the number one spot for Spain, but he thinks he's better than the likes of David James, Rob Green, Ben Foster, Scott Carson and Paul Robinson. I don't know about this one, i mean, you know you're getting on in years, you know you're no where near as good as your rival, so let's change nationality and that'll make it ok.
No it won't, if you know you're not as good, train harder.

Ramsey agrees new deal at Arsenal.

Arsenal forward Aaron Ramsey has signed a new contract. The 18 year old who was signed from Cardiff last season for £5m made 22 appearances for Arsenal.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said:

"He made a very good contribution and he showed that he is a very intelligent player with great quality. He is still only 18 and we're really looking forward to seeing him develop with us in the forthcoming years."Ramsey made his full international debut for Wales against the Danes last November and has gone to play 5 more times for his country.
Meanwhile Arsenal have released Portugal U21 midfielder Amaury Bischoff after only a year, having been bought from Werder Bremenafter. He made just 4 appearances for Arsenal's first-team, all as subs and is one of eight players that manager Wenger has decided to let go. Wenger admitted that it was a gamble to buy Bischoff because he was coming back from a long term groin injury. Rui Fonte, who was on loan at Crystal Palace, has also been told to go when his contract is up.

Wenger has, however, given professional contracts to four of the Arsenal side that won the FA Youth Cup last season. Defenders Luke Ayling (17), Craig Eastmond (18), Cedric Evina (17) and 18-year-old keeper James Shea have all been signed on by the Gunners following an impressive campaign which also saw the youngsters win the FA Premier Academy League under the guidance of former defender Steve Bould.
