Man UTD sign Empoli's youngster Massacci?

Empoli's 16 year old starlet is to have reported to have signed for Sir Alex after he impressed United's scouts during an international youth team event last year, and was also voted player of the tournament. Alberto Massacci is reported to have spent 3 days in Manchester having a medical, and is set to be back in England on Sunday to complete the deal.

The teenager has been left shocked by events. "I couldn't believe it when United called and it was really Sir Alex Ferguson on the phone.
"But it was him, and I had an hour-long chat with him, in English. He seemed to me a modest, simple, incredible person.
"In life, a chance like this comes only once, and you've got to grab it with both hands.
"Even if at 16 years old it isn't an easy decision, you have to leave your home, family and friends. But I don't want to have regrets."

Sir Alex has a reputation of raiding Italian youth teams, previously snapping up Guiseppe Rossi and Federico Macheda.
