"if it moves, kick it. If it doesn't move, kick it until it does"

Eto'o wants to be a Red Devil.

Samuel Eto'o is ready to take a pay cut to play for Man UTD. He has been stalling over a move to their local rivals Manchester City for almost 6 weeks but the wage demand of £200,000 a week has proven to be a sticking point. But the main reason why he hasn't joined City yet is because of the £12million piece of the £25m transfer fee.
But it is reported that he would forget about that if Sir Alex would snap him up. Ferguson still needs another striker just to be safe in case Michael Owen does get another serious injury. He would accept £150,000-a-week that would still make him the top earner at Old Trafford instead of the possibility of mid-table football at Eastlands.

One source close to the player said: "Samuel has not been convinced by a move to a mid-table side in the Premier League and neither will he sign a new deal at Barca."

Guardiola has offered Eto'o a 2 year extension of his current contract, which is £100,000- a-week. But the 28 year old Cameroon international, but he could play just the upcoming season and then leave.
Despite all this, Barcelona are ready to sign David Villa from Valencia and manager Guardiola has told sporting director Txiki Begiristain that he would be willing to have Eto'o and Villa in the same team.
If Barcelona's bid of £40m offer for Villa is turned down, they will go for Athletico Madrid's Diego Forlan, who has a £33m buyout clause, but Barca hope they will get him for a fee closer to £30m.

I can't imagine anyone topping Sir Alex if this deal goes through. I mean Wenger's "project" isn't really working, Chelsea are all messed up because of the manager situation last year, plus they have too many 'stars', and Benitez is still whining that he's better than Man UTD, and how the refs are out to get Liverpool.
So really, even if Eto'o doesn't sign for SAF and UTD, i believe the Premier League crown is staying at Old Trafford, but can you imagine if he does sign, UTD should have won the title by Christmas.
