"if it moves, kick it. If it doesn't move, kick it until it does"

"And Owen has scored for Manchester United"!.......possibly.

What a signing this would be, not only because he's still a great player, he won't cost anything because he's out of contract, and he used to play for Liverpool too.

Manchester United have refused to be drawn on growing speculation they are about to sign striker Michael Owen.

Owen 29, didn't return to Newcastle for Pre-season training after his time at The Magpies has ran out. On Thursday bookmakers in England began to cut the odds on the possibility of Owen signing for Alex Ferguson, but a Red Devils spokesman told BBC Sport "We don't comment on transfer rumours,"

If Owen does sign for Manchester United, money won't be the problem, after all, he's free, his wages won't be hurting the Old Trafford coffers, and a plus is that he could partner Rooney up front and possibly be the Dynamic Duo that England is looking for in their international games.
I think it would be a smart move by Sir Alex if he goes for Owen, keep Berbatov on the bench and push Owen and Rooney up front. That's the way it should be.

Owen's record is at Liverpool, he scored 158 goals in about 300 games, and 40 goals in 89 matches for England, that's a goalscorer.
